I started retrohandhelds.online because I am obsessed with these little machines. There is something incredible about holding a device in 2026 that can carry an entire childhood worth of games in a pocket. From the old grey Game Boys to the new high-powered handhelds that can run PS2 better than the original console, I love all of it.
My Approach
I don’t think there is one “perfect” handheld for everyone. It is all about finding the right one for what you actually want to play. Whether it is a tiny vertical screen for Tetris on the bus or a massive Linux handheld for upscaling classics, I am here to test the buttons and tell you if it is actually worth your money.
